Rebel News, "I won't call it a media organization"

Rebel News is a (media?) organization founded in 2015 by Ezra Levant.

Wikipedia describes it as:

"Rebel News (also known as The Rebel Media and The Rebel) is a Canadian far-right political and social commentary media website operated by Rebel News Network, Ltd. It has been described as a "global platform" for the anti-Muslim ideology known as counter-jihad…Rebel News has been accused of spreading misinformation."

They describe themselves as:

"The fearless source of news, opinion, and activism that you won't find anywhere else.", and "Our world view is generally conservative — we believe in freedom, and judging people based on their individual merit, not the color of their skin, religion, their sexual orientation, or where they come from…Rebel News is one of the few media outlets that has the power, freedom, and reach to challenge the views presented in the mainstream media."

Justin Trudeau has criticized Rebel News for spreading misinformation and disinformation and for sowing division among Canadians, and he has said "I won't call it a media organization".

The internet has made it easy for anyone to broadcast their opinions and interpretations of current events, regardless of qualifications or standards of journalistic integrity. Is Rebel News a trusty-worthy and reliable source? (It's not!) How should we treat organizations like Rebel News? How should our politicians deal with them? How do we make sense of our world while the quality of our news continues to be diluted?
