Reason & Rationality

You should be rational! You should be reasonable. You should DEMOLISH your ideological opponents with FACTS and LOGIC! Or should you? Not everyone agrees that reason and rationality are the optimal methods of forming conclusions. In fact, not everyone agrees on what these words mean.

So what are the benefits and limitations of these and other thinking methods? Do you believe that everyone should believe as they choose, or that we have a responsibility to uphold standards of reason? How do we decide what's true, what's false, and what lies in between?
