Discussion: The Anthropocene Era

The Anthropocene is a proposed term to describe this period in the Earth's history where human activity has a significant impact on the natural world. The effects of our industry are measurable in terms of the composition of the atmosphere and oceans, the climate, the geological record, mass extinctions, and changes in the fossil record and drainage patterns of waterways to name a few examples.
